Dear Diary

I have realized that blogging is like keeping a diary... if you don't update it frequently, you get WAY behind. And if you truly want to be a blogger in cyber world, I guess I need to get my act together =) Lots to update you guys on...

First and foremost, I want to say Happy Birthday to the most amazing sister and best friend. Happy 28th Birthday Tiffany! I am so proud of the amazing person, mom, wife, sister, and friend you have become. Every year, you amaze me even more and I hope to be half the mom and wife you are someday. Happy Belated Birthday!

Second... I have a cold, a BAD cold and it SUCKS! I came home from work the other day (Tuesday) and Joe had come over while I was at school, and left me Tylenol Cold, Air Born, my favorite Cough Drops, Tea, and Chicken Noodle Soup. It was such a nice surprise since I was so grateful because I was feeling so crummy. He left me a note saying that he hid another surprise in my room. I called him, thanked him, and asked him where the surprise was. Of course he wouldn't tell me so he sent me on a scavenger hunt!

He later on text messaged me with a hint "you'll find your fix at the end of the sixty-six" What the heck was that suppose to mean?! After I tore my whole room apart, I wrote him back saying I can't find ANYTHING! My next clue was "your treasure awaits in a dark place, and inside you'll find your prize" What the heck was the suppose to mean? My mattress was over turned, and clothes all over the floor... still no prize. I looked in one last drawer and opened my bible. In my bible was a Moxie Java Gift card and a powerball ticket. The first clue made sense now... my coffee "fix" was at the end of the "sixty-sixth" book of the bible. This picture is of me and my torn apart room! But all-in-all, Joe is amazing and so cute to do something like that for me!

Last but not least, on Friday we threw Mandi's Bach. Party! We went and had a super yummy dinner at the Reef and then took Mandi to Dirty Little Roddy's to ride the bull! We had a fun time! Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Happy Anniversary to two of the most amazing people in my life! Today, September 23, is my parent's 30th wedding anniversary. In this day and age, when the divorce rate is over 50%, I think that it is incredible that two people can make it through some of life's biggest obstacles together. My parents have made it through thick and thin, funny and sad, death and birth, and much more. In my short 23 years of life I have grown up with two loving parents that put one another first, and set an example for us Kellett girls how love and marriage should be. One day I hope to be waking up to my best friend, lover, and soul mate, and know that we made it through 30 years just like my parents have.
Happy Anniversary mom and dad! I LOVE YOU!

Predicting the weather!

Instead of getting my BA in Kinesiology, I should have gone in the profession of "cute weather woman" on the local news broadcast... aka meteorologist and here is why...

A year and a half ago I was dancing on a table in downtown Boise. I was pushed off the table and landed on my left elbow, breaking the radial head straight down the middle. About 6 months later, Joe and I were eating and Red Robin, and I said "Wow that's weird, my elbow just started acting up and is all achy." Sure enough no less than 5 minutes later, it started HAILING!!! I was stoked to be now in the club of the 90 year old geriatrics that say they can predict the weather changing.

I was helping a student this week with his history homework when all of a sudden my bum knee and elbow started aching. "Uh oh" I said "the weather is going to change". My supervising teacher, was sitting at her desk, and goes "that's crazy, I just read that we are suppose to be having thunderstorms." Sure enough, all day Friday my joints acted up and at 7:00 last night, thunder, lighting, rain, and wind hit the Treasure Valley of Idaho. I called it!

Because people think I am crazy about my weather predicting abilities, I looked up my diagnosis:

"Weather-related joint pain is typically seen in patients with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other arthritic conditions. It can affect any load-bearing joint, but is most common in hips, knees, elbows, shoulders and hands. The joints contain sensory nerves called baro-receptors which respond to changes in atmospheric pressure. These receptors especially react when there is low barometric pressure, meaning the atmosphere has gone from dry to moist, like when it is going to rain.
“When pressure in the environment changes, we know that the amount of fluid in the joint or the pressure inside the joint fluctuates with it,” says Dr. Parvizi. “Individuals with arthritic joints feel these changes much more because they have less cartilage to provide cushioning.”

It is also proven I found out, that this atmospheric pressure change can cause migraines as well. Sure enough, I have had more migraines this week than usual.

So moral of the story... 1) I am amazing and 2) If you need to know the weather for a trip, hike, picnic, etc, I am your weather girl!

The "S" Party

Satan (Shawn) and Chelsea
Suzanne Summers and the Siamese Twins
Kate, Me, Chelsea, Steph, and Ember
We had such a fun night!
Shawn, me, Chelsea, and Joe
Last Friday, Joe's roommate's fiance, threw a herself a birthday party. Everyone was supposed to wear something that started with the letter "s" since her name is Stephanie. I pondered for a couple days thinking about what I should do... should I dress up as a Slut? Should I wear brown clothes and paint my arms and face brown and be a piece of Sh*t? Hummm... this was a hard one to figure out. Chelsea and I, however, went as Siamese Twins! We wore a 3XL shirt and were connected at the hip... ALL NIGHT LONG! Mind you, we were drinking, and when females drink, they have to pee, so we stayed in character and stayed connected during that process as well! LOL!! Stephanie went as Suzanne Summers (see pictures for wire hanger "thigh master"). Her finace, Tyler, went as Stewart from Mad TV. Shawn (Chelsea's husband and Joe's brother) went as Satan, and Tyler and Katie Harding came as a Seattle Seahawk and a soccer player.

On another note, I have made it through my first week and a half of work. I am really enjoying it. Never thought I'd be teaching math, study skills, and history, but I love it! I signed all the paper work yesterday and am an offical full time employee with the Boise Joint School District with benefits... I have my own insurance! Wow am I really old enough for that?

I have played in three soccer games now since my knee surgery. Although walking after the games is usually out of the question due to a sore knee and body (don't know how I used to be able to play 90 minute college games) I am LOVING IT! Joe makes me wear my brace and I am known as "squeaky" at the indoor center because it squeaks EVERY move I make!

Welcome to my blog!

After an addicting year and a half of checking my sister's blog almost everyday, I decided that I would start my own since my life has changed so much in the past year! I often have a million thoughts running through my head, so why not write them down?!

So welcome... my name is Jamie and I just made one of the biggest changes in my life, moving back to Nampa, Idaho...

Here I went to school for four years at Northwest Nazarene University were I received my BA in Kinesiology, Recreation, Sports Management, and Coaching. After a year of working many part time jobs (all of which brought me new experiences) and much prayer and thought, I moved back to Idaho with no jobs and with a student loan that I will not bore you with because of the amount of zeros trailing that number.

The motivation that got me here and to keep on searching for my purpose in life was a faith for Jesus that has grown stronger throughout the months. I honestly do believe that God has blessed me with the best family in the world. I have two amazingly beautiful sisters that make me strive to be a better person everyday. They are my best friends and soul mates and without them I wouldn't be the woman that I am today... thank you Krista and Tiffany. Even thinking about what to write about my parents brings tears to my eyes, they are my hero's. They have supported my 100% in this move and I cannot thank them enough for encouraging my to follow the path that God is leading me down.

So here I am folks... Jamie Alyssa Kellett: 23 years old, athletic, caring, crazy, and loving. I encourage you to check this post often and give me any advice or butt kicking that I need along this crazy and unpredictable life!
